Projection: need to automatically qualify

NC A&T’s resume is built on solid wins over league foes and valuable road victories at UNC Greensboro and Morgan State and home wins over Hofstra and Towson, but it is marred by ugly road losses at South Carolina, Davidson, Charlotte and William & Mary and by a string of narrow defeats at Stony Brook, Monmouth and Drexel that leave the profile thin on high-end quality. Most of the schedule has been against low-rated opposition so every remaining game takes on outsized importance and the Aggies now have limited opportunities to change their standing at home against College of Charleston or William & Mary and on the road at Elon, UNC Wilmington and Campbell. Without a signature neutral or true road win to offset the bad losses the most reliable route onto the field is to win the conference’s automatic bid unless they flip any of those remaining matchups into a resume-changing victory.
