Alabama State’s résumé contains a few encouraging flashes yet is overwhelmed by damaging road blowouts and a scarcity of meaningful neutral or true road victories, so the clearest path to the NCAA field is as an automatic qualifier; the program can point to a tough road win at UAB, a high-scoring neutral victory over IUPUI and a competitive trip to New Mexico, but those moments are offset by heavy losses at Florida State, Colorado, Cincinnati, Memphis, Mississippi State and Missouri that weaken any at-large argument.
