Projection: need to automatically qualify

William & Mary’s body of work makes clear why the only reliable path to the big dance runs through winning the Coastal tournament: their best moments are home and neutral wins against middling nonconference and league foes and a handful of respectable road victories, but those results come against teams that do not read as signature résumé enhancers, while their worst moments include a lopsided trip to St. John’s and too many damaging road losses at College of Charleston, Monmouth, Drexel, Elon, Campbell and Hampton that sink any at-large case. The schedule has been light on true high-end scalps and heavy on losses away from home, so unless the Tribe strings together neutral-site and conference tournament wins that elevate their profile they are unlikely to overcome the resume gaps the committee prizes.
