The projection that Evansville will need to secure the conferenceā€™s automatic berth tracks with what their rĆ©sumĆ© actually shows: the neutral-court upset of Oregon State and home wins over Ball State and Valparaiso are genuine highlights and a tight road victory at Indiana State gives a glimpse of resilience, but those positives are overwhelmed by lopsided setbacks at Purdue, at Notre Dame and at neutral Akron along with a string of damaging road losses at the likes of Belmont and Northern Iowa and a couple of ugly home defeats to Illinois Chicago.
