Projection: need to automatically qualify

Kennesaw’s résumé mixes a few eye-catching road and neutral-site flashes with a lot of low-end wins that carry little weight. The team proved it can win away with victories at Florida A&M and at FGCU and it picked up a neutral win over Rice, but those peaks are offset by a bad loss at South Florida, a neutral setback to Oral Roberts and a razor-thin defeat at MTSU that expose consistency issues. Home victories over Jackson St and Georgia St pad the ledger but don’t solve the quality problem, so the upcoming stretch — most notably a neutral date with Alabama and true road tests at Liberty and at WKU along with trips to Delaware and Missouri St — will decide whether Kennesaw’s flashes of promise can translate into a résumé that stands up to tournament scrutiny.
